So many guys I talk to says the same thing in different ways.

“My business isn’t moving fast enough. Growth feels stalled. The phone isn’t ringing like it used to. Something feels off, but it’s hard to put a finger on what exactly.”

Ninety-nine percent of the time, it’s not the market, the economy, or competition.

It’s effort.

Not intelligence. Not talent. Not potential.

Just effort in the right places, applied consistently.

Most people are not doing enough.

The Effort Gap

Here’s what I mean…

They aren’t reaching out to anyone new. They aren’t running ads or they ran them once, didn’t like the result, and shut them off. They aren’t posting enough to stay top of mind. They aren’t emailing past customers. They aren’t calling leads back fast enough or following up more than once.

They wait, they hope, and they convince themselves that waiting is the same thing as being patient.

Then they complain that nothing is happening.

Advertising is a Channel. Part of a Bigger Strategy.

What makes this worse is that owners convince themselves that one thing should carry the entire load.

One ad campaign. One website. One SEO push. One referral source.

As if growth is something you unlock instead of something you build.

Advertising is one channel of a total marketing strategy.

A strategy works because multiple things are moving together.

Think of it like a wheel. Each spoke has a job. Ads. Outreach. Content. Email. Follow-up.

When all of them are doing something, the wheel turns. When only one is doing the work, nothing moves.

This is why businesses that look average from the outside keep winning. They aren’t necessarily smarter. They are more active.

Always Be Marketing. Always Be Advertising. Always Be Selling.

Winners in this space are always marketing. They are always advertising. They are always finding ways to sell!

And they’re consistent through slow and busy seasons.

There is a natural order to how businesses grow, and most people try to skip it.

Attention comes first. Sales come second. Service comes third.

You cannot sell to someone who does not know you exist. It doesn’t matter how good you are, how fair your pricing is, or how long you’ve been in business.

If nobody sees you, nothing happens.

AND why AI Search Visibility may turn out to be the single most important aspect of your future endeavors (more on this in another newsletter).

Time or Money. Pick One. Or Use Both.

There are only two ways to let people know you exist.

You can use your time, or you can use your money.

Time looks like outreach, posting, calling, following up, and staying visible.

Money looks like ads, SEO, and systems that work even when you’re busy out in the truck.

Most people use neither consistently and then wonder why results feel so random and sporadic.

Time usually doesn’t require money. Money usually doesn’t require time.

Pick one and commit to it, or use both if you have the capacity.

What doesn’t work is doing neither and expecting momentum to magically show up.

Nothing happens before attention. So go out and make sure you get some!

Look at Your Activity First

If you feel like you’ve been running in place, it’s worth asking yourself a simple question…

Are you actually out of options, or are you just under-marketing the business you already have?

If the issue isn’t effort but structure, that’s where these tools come in to play: Ads, AI SEO, and properly structured websites. When they’re set up correctly, they buy attention, turn that attention into conversations, and give your business room to grow without you chasing everything manually.

That’s it for today. Now go out there and be somebody!

P.S. If you already know you’re not short on effort but short on structure, that’s where ads, SEO, and a psychologically proven, high-converting website become essential. When you’re ready, hit reply and I’ll point you in the right direction.
